Year-round use with good performance on most surfaces and in most weather. What the majority of Chevrolets leave the factory on, and the right default for a commute.
Good on pavement and off it. The tread wears faster and less evenly, so rotate on schedule if you are running these on a Silverado, Colorado or Trail Boss.
Sharper handling and higher speed ratings, fitted to Camaro, Corvette and performance trims. Shorter tread life, and not built for winter conditions.

Often, yes. It depends where the damage is — punctures in the tread area can usually be repaired, while sidewall or shoulder damage cannot be repaired safely. Bring it in and we will tell you which it is.
Not always, but it is worth checking. If the old set wore unevenly on one shoulder, something is out of spec and the new set will do the same thing. An alignment check at fitting is cheap insurance on a new set.
