You May Already Have Points Waiting

If you have bought, leased or serviced a GM vehicle, there is a good chance you have GM Rewards points sitting unused — and they spend like cash on your next service visit. Call us and we will check for you.

What Your Points Are Actually Worth

GM Rewards points are worth one cent each when you redeem them through GM. Here is what that means in practice.

3% Back On Service And Parts You earn 3 points for every $1 spent on Certified Service, GM Genuine and ACDelco parts and accessories. At a cent a point, that is roughly three percent back on work you were doing anyway.
$30 From A $1,000 Repair A larger repair puts about 3,000 points in your account. That is most of an oil change on your next visit, and it took no effort at all.
7 yrs Before Points Expire Points last until seven years of account inactivity. So they will not vanish next month — but they do you no good sitting there either.

Using Them Here Is The Easy Part

You do not need to look anything up, print anything, or bring a card. Just tell us.

1

Call Or Mention It At Drop-Off

Say you would like to use your GM Rewards points. That is the whole first step — there is nothing to prepare beforehand.

2

We Look Up Your Balance

Your advisor needs your name and ZIP code, plus either your GM Rewards member number or the last four digits of your GM Rewards Mastercard. We find the rest.

3

Choose How Much To Apply

Put some or all of your balance toward the visit. It comes off the total before you pay, and whatever you do not use stays in your account.

Points can be applied against a GM Financial account balance. That one runs through GM Financial directly.

Put Your Points Toward Something

Points are worth a cent each against parts, accessories and service. Here is where people actually spend them — tell us at the counter or on the phone and we will apply your balance.

Points Go Further Than You Think

Every Part And Accessory We Sell Is Eligible

Not just the items above. Points can be applied to any GM Genuine or ACDelco part, any Chevrolet accessory, and any customer-paid service work — across Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac. Call the parts counter and we will tell you what your balance covers.

Points Stack With Our Specials And GM Rebates

Using points does not take you out of anything else. Take the service special, claim the manufacturer rebate, and put points toward what is left. See current service specials.

How You Earn Them

Membership is free and there is no cap on how many points you can build up. You can also share points with family and friends who are members.

  • 3 points per $1 on most GM purchases — service, parts and accessories
  • 1 point per $5 on an eligible new vehicle purchase or lease
  • 1 point per $5 on a GM Certified Pre-Owned or CarBravo vehicle
  • Extra points if you use a GM Rewards Mastercard on the purchase

Most points appear within 24 hours, though some take up to 15 days to post.

Common Questions

How do I find out how many points I have?

Call our service department at (916) 905-4889 or mention it when you drop your vehicle off, and we will look it up with you. We need your name and ZIP code plus either your GM Rewards member number or the last four digits of your GM Rewards Mastercard.

Am I already a member?

Quite possibly. Many owners were enrolled when they bought or leased, or when they set up their vehicle's mobile app, and have been earning without realising it. Ask us and we will check — and if you are not enrolled, we can point you in the right direction. Membership is free.

What are points worth?

One cent each when redeemed through GM. So 5,000 points is $50 toward your visit. That value is set by GM and can change, so ask us for the current figure when you come in.

Do points expire?

Only after seven years of account inactivity, meaning no points earned or used in that period. There is no monthly or annual expiry to worry about.

Can I use points on a service special?

Yes. Points are applied to what you owe, so the special price and any manufacturer rebate still apply. They work together rather than cancelling each other out.

Do I have to use all my points at once?

No. Apply as much or as little as you want to a visit, and the rest stays in your account for next time. Redemptions are final once processed, so decide the amount before we ring it up.

I earned points at another GM dealer. Can I use them here?

Yes. Points are held with GM rather than with an individual store, and they work across Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac. Whatever you have earned anywhere in the GM family can be spent with us.

Do I need the GM Rewards Mastercard?

No. Membership and point earning are free and separate from the credit card. The card is issued by Barclays and earns additional points on purchases, but you do not need it to earn or redeem.
